To both Delight and Disappoint

This last weekend, things really opened up for me and I made a tremendous amount of progress on my current project, book 3 in the Khekarian series, The Bastard Line – the problems seem to have all dissolved and I am currently around the halfway mark of a 500-600 page book.

This might not sound so good, given my scheduled date of choice to publish (July), but it is huge when you consider I was only a quarter of the way only a couple of weeks ago and still struggling.

Things are going so well, I am going to run with it – I may not make the chosen publishing date, but I won’t be as far off it as I feared. That’s the delightful news. I can also tell you that I know at this point that I have a good story, as complex and intricate as my previous ones, and it won’t disappoint.

So what is the disappointment I hinted at in the title?

*

The disappointing news is that to run with it, I’m taking the rest of this week off from Blogsville. That means no posts and also no visiting.

I know that most of you are with me on this, but I will nevertheless ask for your forgiveness and patience. For various reasons, this book has been more difficult to write than I expected, and now that it’s coming together, I need to be there and work the magic as it is flowing.

If you are new to this blog, there are some great posts and plenty to browse through. There are some good photos, too, of my pioneering days in the wilderness (see the dropdown menu tab Wilderness Photos along the top bar). For you guys who have been with me for so long, well, break open the champagne and celebrate because I’m thrilled to bits.

I will catch up with communication today and will disappear tomorrow until next week.

I hope you all understand.

Cheers, all!

😀

I’m surely understand :D. Take your time Allyson. When the problem is getting hard, the outcome is more satisfying, when we could accomplish it (my thought).

Thank you, Yuna. At least this time I’m taking time off because it is going so well. But, yes, it has been a problem and sorting that out is very satisfying.

      Semangat Pagi. 😀

        That sounds great, Allyson.
I wish you all the best outcome. 😀
        Cheers!!

p.s. I’ll take another break tomorrow, about 18 days, and i think it would be hard for me to keep up with blog while having a field break. So, see you after that. 😀
Oh yeah, I’m going to Bali and Bandung, wish you are tempted by my promotion. kekekeke

Well this week, I certainly am… if that helps. Hey, what would you have done had I NOT had a blog? I’m not sure how you found my book in the first place (glad you did!), but as I recall, you went searching for book 2 and it wasn’t there (at that time). This blog is so people can find me. 😀

I do agree with you. Blogging can be a source of distraction if you have a target to meet. You want to give it your all, think thoroughly, and do research where and when necessary. At the end of each day (as exhaustion creeps in), you may find out that you don’t want to close anywhere close written words or perhaps the works of others.

So write. Claw at the keyboard and bring that third book to life! All the best, my good friend.
