Yes, over the weekend, my tried and trusted official reader (hubby Greg) finished reading “The King’s Sacrifice”, 2nd in the Khekarian series (science fiction), and has given his approval. His words? “Excellent read. If anything, better than the first book.” He loved it.
Funnily enough, I thought it was marginally better, too, which is saying something as I am thrilled to bits with the first one, “The Khekarian Threat”. I put that notion down to the second story being fresher to me, having spent so much time in the first one, but as that is not the case for Greg, there must be more to it than that. That makes book 2 crash hot, if I may be permitted a complete lack of modesty here [cough, cough -blush-]. 🙂
So, what are we waiting for?
Very little now. I needed the final page count to give to Laura of the Book Cover Machine for a full wrap cover, which I couldn’t give while there was still the possibility of any rewrite. The moment I knew I could run with what I have, I contacted Laura with that info. That was last Sunday. Sometime through this week she will send me the completed cover and I shall launch the book straight away.
My next post will tell you when this is done.
Thank you everyone, for your patience and all your good wishes to date. You are not only very important to me, you keep me working hard and determined not to let you down.
Thank you, too, Greg, for making time for me in your very busy schedule, for catching those typos and errors I missed (there’s always some!) and for your patience, also, as I know you’ve waited for this book since you read and loved the first one. It’s great that I can keep my secrets from you and give you an undisclosed new story.
And, yep, I’m already working on book 3, although I will take some time out to go swimming with some friends – yes, yes, while continuing to write in the background, I promise.
Cheers all. 😀
